Yiddishist vegans, vegetarians and food lovers of all kinds braved a wintry Melbourne night to hear Eve Jochnowicz sharing her research into Yiddish vegetarianism.  Many already knew this food maven from New York through her Youtube series “Es Gezint Ahayt” and her blog “Inmolaran”, where she shares her knowledge of Jewish food, usually with a modern twist.  Think, gefilte fish made with salsify, just one of her innovative ideas. We left inspired to make new dishes and to buy Eve’s  translation of Fania Lewando’s The Vilna Vegetarian Cookbook.  (Schoken Books)
