Fay Burstin

Fay Burstin joined the Kadimah as Cultural Producer in late 2015, helping bring to life several sold-out events including In Yiddish It Sounds Better! with Austen Tayshus (Oct 2015) as part of the inaugural Melbourne Jewish Comedy Festival, Cabaret Balaganeyden; A Messy Paradise (June 2016) with the Jewish Museum of Australia, Sholem Aleichem: Not Dead Yet! (Oct 2016) and the In One Night concert as part of the In One Voice festival (March 2017).

Fay also curates and manages Splendour Forum, the live discussion program at Splendour in the Grass Music and Arts Festival in Byron Bay, NSW, and Splendour Comedy Club. Fay started Splendour Forum, the first program of its kind at a rock music festival, eight years ago. In that time it has hosted discussions with hundreds of fascinating participants including Julian Assange, Perry Farrell, Billy Corgan, Wil Anderson, Edward Snowden’s US Attorney Jesselyn Radack, The Chaser team, Julian Burnside QC, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Gotye, Marieke Hardy, John Safran, Father Bob McGuire, Tom Ballard and Eva Orner.

Previously, Fay worked briefly as a lawyer before moving into journalism, spending 17 years covering legal, political and health news for the Herald Sun newspaper.
