SUPPORT US
The word ‘KADIMAH’ means ‘going forward’ and there is no better flag-bearer in this milestone year, than our sensational production of ‘Yentl’ at the Arts Centre, which was hailed as: “by far one of the theatrical experiences of the year, a holy and aspirational work that shows us that, far from being the enemy of progress, religion can have a transformative place in our society.”
We need your support to continue this amazing trajectory!
In this our 110th year we turn to you, our loyal Supporters, Volunteers and Friends for your support to ensure that Kadimah continues to flourish and grow.
There is demand for Yiddish language and learning, literature, music, theatre, dance, film, comedy, food, and discourse. Your support will enable us to:
- meet the growing demand for additional Yiddish Shmooze groups
- offer more Yiddish classes at all levels, as well as drama workshops for all ages
- present the best of Melbourne’s performing artists
- stage more award-winning theatre and tour ‘Yentl’ nationally and internationally, and
- build our internal resources to enable us to remain relevant, creative, and engaging as we plan Kadimah’s new home within the Jewish Arts Quarter.
Every donation counts, every volunteer is appreciated, and every visitor is welcomed as a friend.
“יעדער בײַשטײַער איז וויכטיק, יעדער וואָלונטיר ווערט אָפּגעשאַצט, און יעדער באַזוכער איז באַגריסט ווי אַ פֿרײַנט.
Donations to the Kadimah Jewish Cultural Centre and National Library are tax deductable and your generous support will be acknowledged in our Annual Report.
Please be patient – the donation form can take a few seconds to load. It will appear shortly.
Our Story
Since 1911, Kadimah has been a focal point for cultural and intellectual life in the Jewish community. Having recently reinvented itself as a significant Jewish cultural organisation for the 21st Century, the Kadimah is one of the spearhead organisations working on creating a Jewish Culture Arts Precinct – a place where people of all backgrounds can feel at home.
The Kadimah does not see culture as a peripheral activity – it is essential to a healthy individual and to community wellbeing, and a key element in the creation of a successful multicultural society.
