Mandi Katz has 30 years of experience in governance, and financial and legal risk management in the financial services sector. She has held positions as co-chair and programming chair of Limmud Oz Melbourne, a major biennial festival of Jewish culture and learning. From 2015 to 2019 she was president of Shira Hadasha, an orthodox and egalitarian synagogue. She was a founding director of the New Israel Fund (Australia) Foundation, an organisation supporting democratic and civil society initiatives in Israel, and was a board member from 2011 to 2015.

She is married to Ashley Browne and they have three adult children. She has been taking Yiddish lessons at Kadimah since 2019 with great enthusiasm.
