Kadimah Yiddish Theatre is making a spectacular return to Melbourne with the world premiere of Durkh a Modnem Gloz / Through A Strange Lens, the story of love, loss and triumph through the eyes of Yiddish-speaking women.

Durkh a Modne Gloz is an avante-garde theatrical experience that takes you into a poetic dream-world born of Yiddish poetry. Step into the emotionally raw world of female poets, dealing with sexuality and tradition, overbearing relationships, judgement and redemption. Strikingly original, Durkh a Modne Gloz is a musical and theatrical chemistry experiment. The brainchild of composer Josh Abrahams and writer/performer Galit Klas, it builds an electronic score around liturgical and ancient melodies, with retro beats and contemporary sounds. Directed by Green Room Award-winner Gary Abrahams (33 Variations), the show is in Yiddish, with English surtitles.
