We’re thrilled to announce Kadimah’s 2026 partnership with the Jewish International Film Festival, and this year’s collaboration is particularly exciting.

Who knew that Woody Guthrie – the legendary voice of American folk music whose work influenced Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and countless others – had a yidishe neshome?

Dust Bowls and Jewish Souls is a revealing new documentary exploring Guthrie’s deep and little-known connection to Jewish life, art and culture.

Weaving together the story of the Oklahoma Dust Bowl and the rich world of American Yiddish culture, the film offers a fascinating new perspective on one of America’s most iconic folk balladeers.

To accompany the screening, Kadimah has curated an original live musical program celebrating Guthrie’s remarkable Jewish connections.
