Rose Blustein

Rose Blustein is a qualified librarian and has worked in a number of Government and public libraries for over 35 years.

During her tenure at the Braille and Talking Book Library she was instrumental in delivering an
innovative library service to blind and vision impaired users Australia wide as well as producing award winning Australian audio books through the library’s audio book production company.  She also produced a number of audio books in Yiddish.

Rose has also held senior management positions in Human Resources and Operations with the Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention Legal Service, Foundation House (Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture) and BreastScreen Victoria.
Her contribution in the Jewish community includes teaching at the Sholem Aleichem Sunday school, presenting a Yiddish program on radio 3ZZZ and participating in the VCE Yiddish studies program. She has had a long association with the Kadimah and was previously on the Board as well as volunteering in the Library.

Since retiring from full time employment, she has volunteered at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre Office of the Public Advocate, as Honorary Librarian at the Melbourne Athenaeum Library and is currently volunteer Library Coordinator at the Kadimah.
